The Ultimate P-town Restaurant Crawl


Commercial Street in Provincetown is home to some of the best bars, restaurants, and views on the Outer Cape, even during and after COVID-19. Many local spots are open and have updated their protocols to ensure the safety of their guests. Some popular changes include online or single-use menus, updated hours, and ample hand sanitizer for patrons.


Below are some hot spots in Provincetown to consider when planning your next pub crawl.



1.  Jimmy's Hideaway

179 Commercial Street, Provincetown


Founded in 2007, Jimmy’s Hideaway is exactly what the name suggests. The spot’s intimate & romantic setting is perfect for a special time with loved ones. In addition to their huge regular menu, they have awesome nightly specials.


Hours of Operation: Jimmy’s Hideaway is open with indoor and outdoor waterfront dining from 5:00-9:30 pm on Thursday-Sunday.





2. Nor’East Beer Garden: 

206 Commercial Street, Provincetown


Nor’east Beer Garden is one of Provincetown’s finest for homemade bar snacks and atmosphere making this a must-go. Typically, dogs are welcome to dine in with you, but current conditions have prohibited that temporarily. A designated takeout window is available for easy pickup. 


The restaurant and Takeout Counter are opening for the season on May 21, 2021.


Their website notes that in order to get on the waitlist for a table, please consider the following:

  • Check in at the takeout window with the host and you will be added to the list if a table is not available right away

  • Tables can only be held for 5 minutes to ensure efficiency and that patrons are not rushed. The staff do a full sanitation between parties

  • Please wear your mask until you are seated at your table, use it when you need to use the restroom and when you are leaving.

Hours of Operation: Dining Room (with socially distanced dining) and Takeout are open Thursday - Monday from 4:00-10:00 pm.


3. The Canteen

225 Commercial Street, Provincetown


The Canteen is a favorite amongst locals. Did you know that on Saturdays they have sticky buns and on Wednesdays they serve bagels? You can dine seated in an outdoor, ocean-front backyard or pick up your food to-go. To-go orders can be safely placed in person at our newly built counter. You can call ahead to place your order here. The spot has even undergone construction to keep its patrons safe and healthy during and after the pandemic.


Another important thing to know is that The Canteen is very dog-friendly.


Hours of Operation: The Canteen is open 7 days a week from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm. They currently do not accept reservations.



4. Strangers & Saints

404 Commercial Street, Provincetown


Strangers & Saints is a vibrant gastropub featuring regional flavors of Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco and Turkey. With the bay out the front door, the tavern brings a unique vibe to the Outer Cape.



Hours of Operation: The Mediterranean spot is open Thursday through Sunday, starting at 5 pm. They will be open 7 days per week beginning on May 20th, 2021. Reservations can be made 14 days in advance and online here.



Fanizzi’s Restaurant Provincetown


5. Fanizzi’s Restaurant

539 Commercial Street, Provincetown


Fanizzi’s is a classic all-American restaurant with a charming atmosphere with waterfront scenery. Fanizzi’s outdoor seating is a great resting stop on your summer bar crawl. The owner's story is a great one, too.




Updated Hours: Fanizzi’s is open year-round from 11:30 am - 9:30 pm for takeout and outdoor dining. Last call for outdoor seating is at 8:00 pm! You can call (508) 487-1964 to make a reservation.



6. Provincetown Brewing Company

141 Bradford Street, Provincetown

Provincetown Brewing Co is a local brewery and taproom located in the heart of Provincetown. The brewery has a passion for quality craft beer and building community. PBC has committed 15% of profits to progressive and local causes that reflect the values of the Provincetown community. Currently, a selection of seven craft beers is on draft. The PBC beers are unique, like the Asphalt Glitter Stout, a light stout featuring Three Fins Coffee and topped with edible glitter! In addition to the great brews, they offer a great food menu with choices ranging from burgers to Mediterranean grain bowls. The brewery is a great spot to enjoy some local beer and food while in Provincetown.
